Product of the week - Embroidered Toques

Promotional products can be extremely useful! As Winter approaches, it's a good idea to make sure your employees and customers are WARM! Because in all reality, who really likes the cold? (Only when I'm on the ski hill). Embroider a logo or message on these toques to allow the user to become a walking billboard for your business, event or team!

TWO WAYS you can make a difference with these TOQUES:

  1. Simply ask your audience (customers) the next time they make a purchase from your business, to bring in a piece of unwanted winter clothing. It can be a jacket, mittens, hats or scarfs. In exchange, give them one of your new branded toques as a thank you. At the end of the month, gather the clothing your business has accumulated and donate it to a charity in need.

  2. Ask your staff to bring in all their unwanted clothing, and take it down to the local homeless shelter. But before mentioning any type of reward or prize, try to establish that doing a good deed is still a good deed even if it goes unnoticed by the public or doesn't involve a prize in the end.

"Are you proud of your swag?"

Background:

Beth Crowell, President of Mayday Group, was given the opportunity to create and present a short 30 second pitch to capture the audience's attention. This video was taken in Toronto at the 2013 WE Connect Conference.

We think she did just great.

Product of the week - Pedometers

Promotional products are a great way to kick off a marketing campaign, or even to add incentive to influence customers to make a purchase. In 2014, living a healthy lifestyle will be one of the most talked about TRENDS, and not a fad. Do you promote a healthy business model?

Your customers want to see you doing great things. Whether it's supporting your local food bank, volunteering your time over the holidays, or even doing a small, kind gesture. It isn't always the price that will make someone feel positive toward your business.

What you can do is simple. I'll give you three ways you can spread a healthy message this upcoming year.
  1. Host a contest on social media. Get your fans to post pictures of themselves on how they live an active lifestyle, and try to choose a few that fit your brand personality. Along with this promotional item, throw in a gift card to a healthy business (yours, or for example a fruit juice store)

  2. Does your office or store have a reception area? Take a close look at what your customers see when they first walk in. Is it candy? Chairs? Paper? Find out what really stands out in the area. Replace whatever it is with, or add a GIANT BOWL of these pedometers. I recommend not removing the chairs. (My laugh)

  3. Planning to give back this Holiday season? I've got an idea for you. Sell each pedometer (which has your message/logo on it) to your customers, and donate a set portion, percentage or ALL proceeds to a charity of your choice. It displays that you care about your customers health, and also showing support to local organizations

As always, promoting with promotional products is a great way to connect with your audience. Truly connecting with the individual can be cherished in the long-haul.

Jamie

Three ways to use promotional products

You want to be remembered.

Promotional products can enhance a product or service in many ways. Handing out pens are not always your best bet. Want to know how to truly be remembered? DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Put yourself in a position where YOU CAN'T BE IGNORED. Instead of handing out stuff that usually gets placed in a drawer and never seen again, why not give out a specialty prize? Maybe an embroidered duffle bag? Golf kits? Wine kits? Do something different.

Here's how:

1. Leave Something Behind - Are you in sales? Are you having a tough time being remembered after you make your pitch? Clearly, leaving a simple pen is always a smart move, however, try leaving something with a little more meaning. Wouldn't it be nice to know the product you left with YOUR logo/message on it, was being used everyday by your future client?

So, what should you leave behind after your meeting? Try these:

  • Clocks
  • Pen holders
  • Calculators

Reason? Longevity. Long after you have left their office, they will constantly be reminded of you and what you had to offer.

2. Hold A Contest - Who doesn't love the competition factor of a contest? Hold a contest that serves a meaning. What possibly could a contest do?
  • Boost sales
  • Increase brand awareness
  • Increase overall traffic
How? For example:
  • Ask participants to go around the city with your new product, and come up with new ways to use it.
    •  This creates content for your social media accounts, and shows future users what your new product can do.
      • How to reward the winner for being most creative? SWAG them out with company T-shirts, hats, sweaters, etc, to promote them to "Brand Ambassadors".

Think they did an AMAZING job? How about giving them a branded trophy?

3. STAY RELEVANT - Match promotional items with the items you sell to your customers.

Selling shoes? Give away laces.
Selling computers? Give away flash drives.
Selling landscape services? Give away seeds or plants.
Selling maid services? Give away micro fiber clothes.
Selling pet supplies? Give away pet leashes.

Just some branded examples. And when we're talking give aways, they can be something you add as an incentive to someone making a purchase.
